FAQ Partnership

A partnership is open to universities, universities of applied science, hospitals, professional societies, foundations, public bodies, patient organizations, and other entities active in the field of dementia.

Once a collaboration request is submitted, it undergoes review. The final decision on entering a partnership lies with the board of the Swiss Network for Dementia Research. During an initial meeting, key aspects of the potential partnership are discussed.

The relevance of the partner organization to our community is essential. The partner organization should support at least one of the following areas: academic or clinical research, the diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, the patient perspective, career advancement for researchers or clinicians, or support for startup creation. Partner organizations should align with the overarching goals and vision of the Swiss Network for Dementia Research.

The primary motivation for partnerships is to foster networking and scientific exchange. Collaborations between the Swiss Network for Dementia Research and partner organizations support the development of an interactive research community, benefiting from a comprehensive infrastructure and range of services.

Partners of the Swiss Network for Dementia Research are represented on our platform and can introduce themselves to our community. Depending on the agreement, this may include mention in our Partners Section, informational content in our newsletter, links on social media, or event representation. We also promote events from partner organizations relevant to our community. Additional benefits include:

• Free membership: One representative from the partner organisation receives a free membership, allowing them to participate in the General Assembly with voting rights.
• Increase visibility: Showcase your organization on our platform with your logo and description displayed on our partner page.
• Connect with an interdisciplinary community: Engage with experts across various disciplines.
• Stay informed: Receive the latest updates from the community and the field.
• Translate research into practice: Support the conversion of fundamental scientific discoveries into practical applications in the field.
• Raise awareness: Contribute to greater awareness of neurodegenerative diseases.
• Position Switzerland as a hub: Help establish Switzerland as a central player in neurodegenerative research, attracting young talents and leading researchers.

Partners bring an interest in dementia research and fostering connections among researchers. Other contributions are discussed individually in the initial meeting, considering the organization’s role, activities, and capabilities. Contributions may include donations of time, provision of facilities or infrastructure, information sharing, promotion of the network through the partner’s channels, or financial contributions.

We establish partnerships on an individual basis, with no minimum duration.

The Swiss Network for Dementia Research operates nationally as there is currently no central platform for dementia research in Switzerland. While international networks for neurodegenerative diseases exist, we aim to strengthen national connections. Our goal is to position Switzerland as a leading player in dementia research, attracting research talent and encouraging young scientists to conduct their work in Switzerland.
